Tensegrity Productions is a digital media company focusing on stories of environment, art, and community. We work with community groups, renewable energy developers, teachers, scientists, musicians, artists, thinkers, and dreamers to share stories that we hope will lead to positive change.
We borrow the term “tensegrity” from architect and visionary Buckminster Fuller who observed a principle of fluid interconnectivity in nature, a tensional integrity, or tensegrity. By this elastic property of interconnections, when one element of a tensegrity structure shifts, all the other elements shift as well, adapting for a new configuration, yielding without breaking. While Fuller used this observation to design the geodesic dome and his iconic wire and post tensegrity structures, we find it to be a useful metaphor to illustrate the interconnectivity of communities, ecosystems, even our entire planet. We all affect each other, what happens over here has an impact on that place over there, and greater strength and resiliency can be found not through absolute rigidity, but through the ability to sway and adapt.
We live in an increasingly complicated world, and we believe that lasting, sustainable change comes about only when all sides of the story are acknowledged, when every stakeholder has a voice. We believe in the power of collaboration, and in the benefit of seeking common ground in our humanity. Tensegrity Productions is owned and operated by Sarah Koenigsberg and is based in Walla Walla, WA.
